When it comes to pasties in Bude, we’ve sampled many and enjoyed our fair share over the years. Whether you prefer your pasty with the traditional Cornish side crimp or the Devon top crimp, there are two pasty shops in town that we keep coming back to each time we visit:

Tasty Pasties

First up is Tasty Pasties, a local gem known for its huge menu of savoury and sweet pasties. Nestled on Princes Street ( EX23 8AT)  in the heart of Bude, this small shop is a must visit if you’re in town. From traditional steak to more inventive options like vegetable curry, it’s rare our family order will include will buy two of the same type. While Tasty Pasties is takeaway only, there’s something about enjoying a hot pasty nearby overlooking the sea that makes it all the more enjoyable.

Pengenna Pasties

For those seeking a taste of tradition, Pengenna Pasties is the place to be. A must visit during a day on the beach, Pengenna Pasties is a short walk away on Belle Vue Lane (EX23 8JL). It’s a larger shop that specialises in classic flavours in the Devon top crimp style. While there’s indoor seating, we prefer to head straight back to the beach!

But if we had to pick one, Tasty Pasties is the firm family favourite. In fact, our end-of-holiday ritual is to swing by and pick up a mixed selection box of 12 pasties to bring home for the rest of the family to enjoy. (They phone in their specific orders to us!)
