Blackberry has a private
landscaped garden, with a BBQ area, lower area by the cottage, and higher
lawned area at the rear of the garden. Originally, when Trevalgas
was a working farm, the Manor was the farmhouse, but later the farm
buildings were turned into self catering cottages, and each was
sold. The communal areas, and Blackberry's private garden are tended all
year and are full of colour. A common comment from our guests is
how much they appreciated the gardens at Trevalgas.
Blackberry and Blackberry, are modern additions to the
small complex.

Blackberry's rear garden is on two levels, with
the higher level backing onto the large play
field. There is a gate at the rear to allow children to go over to the
adventure play area while adults can relax in the garden and keep a eye
on them from a distance!
|
The higher lawned area has
several herbaceous borders full of flowers for much of the year,
from spring bulbs and polyanthus through lilac, hebes, flaming
red crocosmia, Japanese anemones and winter flowering heathers.
Behind the garden, through the gate and
just into the meadow is a series of further borders full of
flowers to tempt you to wander through them over to the
children's play area on the far side. |

Full of character, this old gate is in the wall of the car
park.
|
Gates have been fitted to the
paths on both sides of the cottage, and the gardens are now enclosed
with toddler proof fences, and so that you can relax in the garden
with a drink, and not worry about your toddlers escaping around the
front of the cottage!

All around Trevalgas Farm
Cottages, there are colourful flower beds, raised form plant
plugs each year by our wonderful gardener who looks after
the complex. Here are the flower beds leading up to the
indoor swimming pool building in early September. |

Gardens just outside the Games room
|
There are plenty of open areas with fuchsia and escallonia
hedgerows. This area just opposite the Games room is full
of flowerbeds and colourful most of the year, thanks to the
mild Cornish climate and protection from the surrounding
trees. |
At the front of
Blackberry is a large sunny terrace overlooking the
Trevalgas Farm Cottages complex, and over the surrounding
countryside. There are tubs, troughs and borders providing a
colourful place to sit on the bench and enjoy a morning
coffee in the sun.
